Reflection 2020

At the start of 2020, we were hopeful that things were coming together at Montbletton. The new extension, home to the stores and the retail outlet, was seeing its finishing touches. We had moved the stores from the four containers to the new first floor accommodation. All the racking and labelling of parts was complete. The new retail area was established and essential daily items displayed on purpose prepared shelving.

Our franchises now on display, include Makita (well renowned power tools, garden tools and electric lawnmowers), Grassman (merchandise), Buckler (work and leisure boots and footwear), Calor Gas, Gallagher (stock fencing) and Bruder, Britans, and Siku Toys (for ALL age groups). Greys feed to provide for your small holding and dogs plus many more items.

Sam Hunt (Parts Manager) and Lewis Grieve are now well settled in the retail area. With their expertise they will be able to meet your requirements.

With all this in place – Covid -19 struck! However, with the co-operation of all the staff we were fortunately able to remain open. The end of March saw the start of planting and drilling, a very important time for us. Spring was kind to us, allowing basically non-stop planning and sowing and gave the crops an excellent start.

We worked through spring into the summer months with June the disappointment of the cancellation of the Royal Highland Show and our local shows. Despite this set back, here at Cc Powell Ltd we kept open and successfully demonstrated Pottinger Grassland Equipment (mowers, tedders, rakes and balers) in June. We carry a selected range of demonstration equipment and are happy to discuss these with you – our demonstration fleet is highlighted within the website.

With harvest our workshops were finishing service programs and PDI’s on customers’ machinery. It turned out to be a very wet season for the root crop growers that may have caused some issues. As an industry, Agriculture seems to be very much in the background!, however here at C c Powell Ltd, you, our customers are always to the fore.

As mentioned earlier, we had high hopes for 2020, but Covid -19 did for a moment present problems. Taking advice and being careful the workshops, stores and sales departments have continued their daily tasks during these difficult times. In this light, we would like to thank you for all your support, but not being able to welcome you to our 2020 show stands please come and visit us at Montbletton and see our new stores and retail facilities, aptly named Powell’s Country Store.
